Memory Jar 2013

You have probably seen these all over the internet recently since the New Year but if not let me explain. The memory jar is an idea that over the year, 2013, every time you have an enjoyable experience or something special happens you write it down on a small piece of paper then place it in your jar. Then at the end of the year (New Year’s) you open up the jar and look at all of the nice things that have happened to you over the last 12 months. I think this is a fabulous idea to keep account of all of the smaller good things that happen to you and this is a nice way to be able to look upon those events and smile. I have started my jar and decorated it a little just to make it a little prettier; I already have a few memories in there and hopefully by December I will have a full jar I can open.  If you haven’t already I suggest everyone makes a memory jar! It’s a cheap easy idea (I got my jar from ikea for about £1.50) and everyone can do it. If anyone has one please leave a comment and tell me how it is going! Hope you are all well, love Hann xxx

Sunday is Funday

Dennis the Ikea toy

I LOVE SUNDAYS! Sundays are fun days in my eyes. Sundays mean long lie ins, long walks, brunch and just general fun! Lots of people don’t like them because of the fact that the day that follows is Monday and that brings lots of troubles. I try not to think about it and take advantage of the lovely day that is the Sunday and this includes playing with my favourite Ikea toy Dennis for a large amount of time…which I should really spend doing something productive but you know whatevers. Other things I enjoy doing is sorting out my bedroom by buying new flowers and throwing out old magazines and just making my space all pretty and that!

Other things that are fun to do on Sundays include going to enjoy an almighty Sunday dinner! I was lucky enough to do this as well as it was my brothers 18th this week so we went to the Alnwick Gardens Tree house for lunch and my sweet Jesus it was heavenly, I recommend it to everyone. I didn’t manage to take pictures of all of the food as I ate it too quickly for the camera to come out, whoops. But I did manage to take a cheeky snap shot of my desert which was a sloe gin and berry frozen ice cream (I know you are jealous).
Sloe Gin and Berry Desert
SO my tips for enjoying a Sunday and making it a Funday is to sleep a lot, eat a lot and do whatever you enjoy! If that is walking or organising just take advantage of the day and not to dwell on the fact that tomorrow is Monday. I dislike Mondays. They are not Fundays.
Lots of Love Hann xxx

Post Pay day Haul

I don’t know about anybody else but I have a horrific grasp of what saving money is?! My post pay day hauls are normally my most outrageous but in the next few weeks I plan to visit friends at university so I am trying to save for train tickets.  So this month I tried just to stick to the essentials such as new hair care products as I have just gotten my hair dyed and I want to make sure the colour stays and doesn’t dry out.

Aussie Miracle Colour Insurance Leave in Conditioner & 3 Minute Miracle Reconstruction Deep Condintioner: £6.99 Superdrug Offer

I went for Aussie hair care as I have used it before and has constantly impressed me with its beautiful smell and how well it treats my hair. In Superdrug at the moment it is buy 2 Aussie products for £6.99 which I think is a bargain as each product is £4.99 on its own! With this delightful offer firstly I bought myself the “3 minute miracle reconstruction deep conditioner” which I would swear by to anyone. I used it about 2 – 3 times a week and it keeps my hair shiny and soft which is a miracle since I am in the pool about 5 times a week and leaves me with chlorine baked hair. So if it works on my mop it’s bound to work on yours! I also bought myself the “Miracle colour insurance leave in conditioner”, I have never used this before but I thought it would be useful to leave in my swim bag so after I wash my hair I can put it on straight away; also it had a pretty bottle. I will report back on it when I have used it some more but on first impressing’s it is doing pretty well and leaves my hair smelling delicious.
Linited Edition Vaseline Pink Bubbly: £2.65 Offer Superdrug

Whilst I was in Superdrug I noticed that they had £1 off the “Limited Edition Vaseline Pink Bubbly Lip Therapy” and I just had to get it! I am a Vaseline hoarder, I have 7 tins going at the minute and the last thing I needed was another one but my sister had told me how nice this one was and I was very impressed with their Crème Brule limited addition lip therapy last Christmas time so I gave in and bought it. I love this flavour as well; it was a pale pink tinge to it and has a lovely light scent to it so I suggest everyone to go and get one before they get taken away.
Aloe Vera Deep Cleaning Mud Mask: £2.50 Superdrug

Recently I have been having awful bother with my skin and breakouts so whilst I was in Superdrug I took a look at their face mask selection and I came across this little gem. They had a selection of 3 different scents you could buy and I went for the aloe vera one as I know that it goes well with my skin. It was only £2.50 a tube and where one packet of face masks costs a £1 and you only get one mask out of this and with the tube I guess I can get about 4 or 5 masks, I see it as a steal. I have used it once so far and so far so good it left my skin feeling fresh and clean and helps clear up one or two grey looking areas. I will report back when I have used it more times and gave it a proper trial.
Striped T-shirt: £11 TK Maxx
After leaving Superdrug I went on and adventured into one of my favourite shops of all time, TK Maxx.  At the moment though my local shop is being refurbished so there is only one small part of the store open for business so I wasn’t able to have a proper search for things; sad for me but good for my bank balance. I was able though to find myself one little treat, which is this black and white striped t-shirt. It was reduced to £11 from £35 and was the only one left in a size XL so it is pretty baggy but hangs well at the same time. Its fabric makes it quite heavy for a t-shirt so it hangs down and looks beaut with a pair of skinny jeans or leggings or something along those lines. I also like that at the back it has a black zip that runs all the way down the middle; it just makes it a little different and a bit fun. Sadly I do not know the make as the label had fallen off in the madness. Even though it was a bit traumatic to see my favourite shop in bits I was not completely disappointed leaving with this little number.  Most people have mixed feeling on TK Maxx due to its lay out but it is definitely worth having a rummage as they do get most of the best stuff in for half the price; so I recommend to everyone to go and brave the manic rails!

So this was my mini post pay haul and I hope you enjoyed it! Please leave a comment if you have any questions and I hope you are all well. Love Han xxx
