Disco Bus

2013 brought the signature nail (this just means one nail is painted a different colour to the rest) and I have a feeling it’s here to stay. Not going to lie, it is a favourite of mine as it is so simple and easy to do yet add something a little different to your regular nail varnish design. The easiest way to do it if you don’t fancy having different coloured nails is just to add a glitter top coat to one of the nails which I have done here, it doesn’t look it as this is a quite heavy top coat but believe me it is!
For the base coat I used Rimmel London I Love Lasting Finish in 030 Double Decker Bus which I got for my birthday and for the glitter top coat I went to an oldie, Models Own in Southern Lights. Both of these are drug store brands so are easy to get your hands on and are relatively cheap. So if you haven’t already give this a go to give your nails a little more jazz than normal, the nail you choose to stand out if up to you and so are the colour combinations.

Music wise this week I have been OBSESSED (capitals are necessary) with alt-j An Awesome Wave, this album was hyped big time about this time last year and I have just got around listening to it and can’t stop. If you are fans of dance/electro/indie music then give it ago; my favourites are Breezeblocks, Taro and Fitzpleasure.
I am looking for new music so please recommend below!

Brow Raising Adventures

Sadly when I was created and my features were being decided I inherited my father’s eyebrows which mean if they are untreated they take up a good 76% of my face. Due to this I learned eye brow care from a young age to avoid embarrassment with the assistance of my mother; who I might add has lovely natural eyebrows…jealous. I thought I would share to you guys how I control my beasts so they are acceptable for human interaction.

The first essential brow tool EVERYONE needs is a pair of decent tweezers and my favourite are Tweezerman tweezers by far (how many times can I say tweezers in one sentence). Upon purchasing they do seem rather pricey but they last so so well! I find with cheap tweezers that they are just not sharp enough and another bonus is that Tweezerman tweezers come in a wide range of colours, designs and patterns so there’s a pair to suit everyone. Big up for leopard print tweezers! You can get Tweezermans from most big drugstores and department stores.
I find spending a lot of money on brow products a little hard since they are such a small part of the makeup world if that makes sense…don’t think it does but let’s just go with it. So instead of buying an expensive eyebrow brush I found this little trick; when mascara runs out keep the brush and wash it clean then let it dry. Then BOOM you have an eyebrow brush! Just use it as anyother eye brow brush and it works the exact same way without spending any extra dollar. I find bristle brushes work better then plastic brushes especially for thick brows like mine but plastic ones will do the same job.
The final products I use are both products I have wrote about before in previous posts and I love them both even though one if more high end and the other drugstore. Firstly I use my NARS highlighter just below my brows on the both to just add a little definition to them and then use my Rimmel pencil to fill them in. I highly recommend these products but if you don’t want to shell out to get a high end highlighter I find using a light shimmer eye shadow instead works as well however make sure you add it lightly so you don’t get white brows.
What do you do to your brows? Any helpful tips for a girl with face consuming brows?
Lots of love kittens, Hann xx

Pardy With a D

Oh the title looks a little dirty but I promise this post isn’t. Sorry I haven’t done anything in a while but exams are taking over my life and I have little time for anything else, sad Han. But I was lucky enough to go to a Eurovision party on Saturday so I thought I would do a quick post on how I did my makeup. To be honest I am not that adventurous with my make up when I am just going to house parties, I normally go for the same sort of look or I maybe sometimes change up the eye shadow or lip colour; so this look is my sort of got too look as it’s a bit more to what I wear daily but not full on going out look.
Ps I didn't go in my grandad jumper, I was just cold

I am a huge fan of a big eye look so I always tend to go for a lip colour which is quite simple like this one in pearly pink. I really like the Rimmel Apocalips and I highly recommend them along with the Maybelline Falsies Mascara which is AMAZING! Its product which truly deserves the hype it gets. All of the makeup I am wearing is stuff I really really like and I am impressed with so I do recommend it all but the one thing I do want to rave about is my NARS Highlighter. I got this when I was in America last summer and it is probably one of my favourite bits of makeup, it is amazing and has so many uses. You can put it on as a base before your foundation to give yourself a little extra glow on the days when your skin is just looking a bit dull or just use it on your cheeks and under your eye brow. It is a pricier highlighter but I absolutely adore it so I will definitely be repurchasing it and also its NARS so you know it’s going to be a good product.

I am considering doing a small tutorial video on this make up with just a few tips I have gathered over the years so if you do want to see that please leave a comment below and I will do it after my exams are over.
Thank you so much for reading kittens, happy Monday! Love Hann xx
