Disco Bus

2013 brought the signature nail (this just means one nail is painted a different colour to the rest) and I have a feeling it’s here to stay. Not going to lie, it is a favourite of mine as it is so simple and easy to do yet add something a little different to your regular nail varnish design. The easiest way to do it if you don’t fancy having different coloured nails is just to add a glitter top coat to one of the nails which I have done here, it doesn’t look it as this is a quite heavy top coat but believe me it is!
For the base coat I used Rimmel London I Love Lasting Finish in 030 Double Decker Bus which I got for my birthday and for the glitter top coat I went to an oldie, Models Own in Southern Lights. Both of these are drug store brands so are easy to get your hands on and are relatively cheap. So if you haven’t already give this a go to give your nails a little more jazz than normal, the nail you choose to stand out if up to you and so are the colour combinations.

Music wise this week I have been OBSESSED (capitals are necessary) with alt-j An Awesome Wave, this album was hyped big time about this time last year and I have just got around listening to it and can’t stop. If you are fans of dance/electro/indie music then give it ago; my favourites are Breezeblocks, Taro and Fitzpleasure.
I am looking for new music so please recommend below!

Nail Summer Fun

One of the best things about summer is being able to wear neon bright nail varnish all of the time! I love the brightness of it, how colourful it can be and most of all, how it makes me look more tanned than I actually am. Evil Laugh. One of my favourite combinations at the moment has to be using my Barry M Nail Paint in shade 26 and my Models Own in Banana Split; both are drugstore brands but I absolutely love them. As you can see my Barry M has been well loved and is nearly ran out so I will be making a sneaky trips to Boots soon to restock my supplies. The good thing about these brands is that if you are not a fan of wearing bright shades all year round you can still buy some for the summer months and not feel bad for not using them a lot as they price around the £5. So go ahead treat yourself and buy some neon nail polish (even if it’s just to make you look more tanned).
Fleetwood Mac - Big Love (Live: The Dance)
This song is my obsession at the moment, my mum whipped out her old stereo player and I found this beaut on one of her old records and I can’t stop listening to it. I CAN NOT BELIEVE ITS LIVE AS WELL! Perfection.

What summer colours are you loving? Love Hann xx

Is a Zebra Black with White Stripes?

TGIF friends! I don’t know what it is but I have a slight to excessive love for stripy tops; I had a count the other day and I own 6…I am not sure if that’s crossed the line to be too many yet. Any way as it was sunny today I decided to wear one of my favourites which I have had for absolutely ages, a blue stripy crop style top from H&M. However it doesn’t really look cropped as I went for a bigger size so it would be nice and baggy as I don’t personally feel comfortable wearing crop tops. I also went for a simple grey vest top underneath just in case it got a bit colder (which it did so let’s give a big shout out to vests, weeeew) and then just wore it with a pair of black leggings which are always a safe bet. I completed the look with a big necklace I actually only remembered I had the other day; I am so upset I forgot about this little beauty! It is going to get much wear out of it now as my sign of forgiveness. I’m sorry pretty necklace.

Make up wise I went for my simple day to day look which is just little foundation, nude eyeshades and a little lip gloss for colour. I find this a good look for during the week as I am still in 6th form and I just don’t have time in the mornings to do anything more elaborate so I found something I like and is easy to do. My hair was trying to be a lion’s mane this morning so I just tried to control it with a side braid; I love side braids as they are simple to do and still look so pretty! Also I find them so much easier to do now I have longer hair. On my nails I wore Models Own Banana Split  with Models Own Blizzard  top coat; I love pastel nail colours for spring as they make me look less pale and you can never go wrong with a sparkly top coat.I absolutely love Models Own nail colours; they have a fantastic range of colours and for only £5 a bottle it is brilliant value!
