Summer Days Naked Face

Being a life guard I have to face constant inner turmoil deciding whether to wear makeup or not; on one hand I don’t want to clog my skin up even more when I will already be really hot but at the same time I don’t want to scare the public away with my face. To overcome this dilemma I have found a nice middle ground; a makeup look which allows me not to look like the evil witch from Snow White but at the same time not leading too loads of break outs and since the weather here in the UK is copying the weather that is in Africa I thought I would share this look to give you guys an idea of what to wear. Firstly I never wear foundation as its too heavy and will just melt off, so instead I wear a BB cream; I am using L’Oreal Paris Code Lumiere BB cream in Fair and it gives the coverage I need but doesn’t clog my pores up too much. I then fill in the really bad bits (bags, spots and redness) with my trust worthy Collection 200 Lasting Perfection Concealer but if I am having a good skin day I tend just to leave it after the BB cream so my skin can breathe. If I am feeling a little fruity I then use a little contour to give my face a little more shape because hey, you never know who you’ll see! I am using Bourjois Paris Maxi Delight Bronzer at the moment and so far I am really impressed with it. Eye wise I tend not to wear much as I don’t really want panda eyes so I just stick to a little mascara; here I am using my Soap & Glory Thick and Fast mascara which stays put even after sitting on poolside for over an hour. I also use my eye lash curlers just to give my lashes a little more lift so I don’t look too tired. Finally I fill my brows in with my Rimmel London Brow Pencil as without it I don’t have any brows then just put a little moisture on my lips as they can dry out terrible in the heat; I am using Nivea’s Lip Butter in Raspberry Rose which I absolutely love! While in the heat you must also remember to stay hydrated throughout as not only will it leave you dehydrated but the heat does nothing for your skin so by drinking lots of water it replaces any lost.

What makeup do you wear in the heat? Remember to be safe kittens!

Bourjois Paris Maxi Delight Bronzer

Momma's Birthday Walk

Pale girl buying bronzer…a recipe for disaster you say? I say otherwise; I am sick of my skin looking deathly white all year round so I took the plunge last week in Superdrug and bought Bourjois Paris Maxi Delight Bronzer in shade 2. This was on offer and was only £5.99 so I thought f*** it and bought it even though I have never spent more than a £1 on bronzer before, (MUA bronzer, really good actually!) as I thought I was too pale for it. While outside of my comfort zone I have tried to add this to my day to day make up which has been made harder as the sun is out and in hot weather I tend to stay away from a lot of face make up but I am trying my best to use it, brownie promise! After a week of using it I thought I would share my first thought with my internet kittens on this product. Firstly I absolutely love the packaging which is a bonus; it is simple, sleek and even though it is quite big it’s not impossible to carry around; also don’t ask why I smelt it but I did and it smells really good, another bonus! Quality wise so far I really like it, as I am quite light I only add it very lightly using a power brush to my cheeks and other facial features and it leaves a nice sun kissed finish which I do enjoy. I wore it last week for my mum’s birthday when we went for an all-day walk so this put it to the test of lasting quality and I wasn’t upset with it but let’s just say it can’t stand up against a 5 mile beach walk in the summer heat. Overall I do really like it and I will keep using it. If you are a pale gal like me I suggest this as it has not got the scary price tag so bronzers have and it can also be applied very lightly so it doesn’t leave a tangoed affect.

What bronzers do you love?

Bourjois Paris Colour Boost

I am in love with the orange trend at the moment in the makeup scene so when I saw Bourjois Paris had realised an orange shade in there new Colour Boost collection I nearly weed myself with excitement and bought it as soon as paid day rolled around. The colour is called Orange Punch and it gives everything that is promised on the tube/bottle/pen thing…good descriptive Hann. The pigment is amazing, its hydrates, I wouldn’t quite say it lasted as long as 10 hours but it definitely stay longer than most other lip colours. On top of that it has SPF 15 which is especially important; a lot of lip products don’t have any SPF so when a product does it always screams to get my attention. This is definitely going to be one of my most used summer products. I highly recommend these lip colours and at only £7.99 you cannot really go wrong; I have heard many different dates to which these are being released but I have seen them in most of the Boots and Superdrug’s near me so go get yourself one! Have you tried the Colour Boosts and if so what do you thing? What are the other shades like?
Stay classy internet, Love Hann xxx
