Beauty and the Beach 2 Competition

My Overall Look
The lovely people at Travel Super Market launched a competition last year called the Beauty and the Beach competition and due to its popularity they have decided to do it again; this means even bigger and better prizes! They are challenging bloggers to showcase their talent by posting a blog post that captures what they think is the perfect holiday hair, nails and make-up.
I have decided to enter the make-up and hair sections as my nail art skills vary from none to vary little. For the makeup section I have decided to go for a very simple, minimal look as when I go on holiday in the sun my skin just explodes into freckles so not much covers it up. Also I find in really hot climates it’s not nice to clog your skin up further with more foundation and cover up so I mainly tried to focus on simple yet pretty eye make. For this look I have used a little concealer and bronzer, details of which I will leave below; along with that I have used a gold eye shadow (which I am obsessed with at the moment, check an early post for the details) and mascara only on the top as I find it opens the eyes more and if you are going to be hot you don’t want black streaks tripping down your face!  For my eyebrows I just filled them in a little with a brown eyebrow pencil for quickness as you don’t want to spend quality tanning/site seeing time colouring in eyebrow! Then finally on the lips I just used a lip balm as my lips crack so easily and in the heat they are just a mess so I always try to use something on them that are going to keep them hydrated and have an SPF.

Collection 2000 Lasting Concealer
MUA Bronzer in Shade 1
Soap & Glory Thick and Fast Lash Mascara
Urban Decay Eye colour in Half Baked
Rimmel London Eye Pencil in Brown
Burt's Bees Replenishing Lip Balm

Hair wise I went for a simple side braid, leaving out my shorter layers around the top and the fringe area. I went for this as I have so much and so thick hair leaving it down in a hot climate is just not an option! A side braid is quick and easy to do and on top of that it’s really pretty and keeps your hair out of the way; also it helps you from overheating if you have a lions mane like me.  This is definitely the look I would go for if I was going site seeing or just relaxing on the beach; I would even probably keep this style if I was going out in the evening as it does look really nice. On an extra note I find the side braid helps disguise dirty hair if you have been out for some time and the heat has just taken toll on your hair and you want to hide it.To keep it in place I just used a simple brown hair bobble from Primark.

That is my Beauty and the Beach look and I hope you liked it! If you would like to enter I will leave the link below and I think you should as it’s a great idea and there are some fabulous prizes up for offer.
If you do enter best of luck and happy Monday! Hann xxx
